Just a photo today.
A heavy rain came a couple of nights ago and washed most of the leaves away, but I was able to snag this shot a few days before.
This is just one of the zillions of reasons I love fall. Right up there with sweaters, scarves, hot coffee and cool, crisp air.
What's your favorite thing about the fall?

I love everything fall too!
The pumpkin patches, the colors, the food! I could do without the colder weather. Wish it would just stay in the 50's and 60's. Today was in the 40's and snowed a little.
Snowed!? That's crazy town! Though I am a little jealous because our winters have been a little weak the past couple years. I hope we get one good snow this time around!
Snow predicted for tonight about 60 miles north of you. Yeah, snow. About an inch expected.

OMG, I have to show DH this photo and this post to convey what I was trying to tell him yesterday: we need to get to the city so we can see the Parks (at a very minimum Central Park) before all the leaves fall! have been here 2 years, never done that. crazy, huh?
Holy crap! That is waaaaay too long. You have to come down and see it all before the rain (and snow? did I get my wish?) washes everything away!

I like being able to wear sweatshirts and drink lots of warm stuff. And I love being able to bundle up and watch TV with my kids...don't like their cold feet as much.
Thanks for sharing that beautiful pic!
*sigh* that sounds perfect and I can't believe I forgot sweatshirts!! I wear a hoody every morning when I get out of bed to warm myself up. Also, at work I officially declared "Sweatshirt Sunday"! Sunday is our last day of the week so wearing sweatshirts helps ween us into comfort for our day off on Monday. :)

Cinnamon!
People avoid cinnamon like it's poison in the summer...but when Fall hits...wham! All the stores smell like they've got pie baking elves working double time in the kitchens...sure it's actually just the piles of scented pine cones placed strategically by the front doors but it smells LIKE pie so good enough. Cinnnnnnamon!
How could I forget! I even bought one of those room scent sprays from Bath & Body during Christmas one year...it's apples and cinnamon of course. Whenever I spray it, i think of the holidays (the good part).

hot cider!

Mmmm, now I really wish I had gone apple picking.

Beautiful pic! I wish we had colors here. Ugh! It was 96 at my house today and the heat is getting old. I'd love just ONE cold day ... you know, in the 70s or so!
I don't know how you do it. My entire family is from the west coast (I'm a first generation east coaster) and as much as I love it out there, I'm not sure I could handle living without a fall. I hope it cools down for you soon!

This photo is so gorgeous, not just because of its amazing fallness, but because the composition is just right. The glimpse through the shadows to the lake in the sun gives so much depth to the shot, it really takes it out of being just another beautiful picture of autumn. Well done!
