property of corid
I am crazy for any recycled art. I particularly love drawings over old book pages and never once thought "Hey, I could do that on a map." Corid does some incredible work on old vintage paper and pages of old poetry books, but it was this (and others like it) that really caught my eye. Not only are the drawings unique, filled with imagination and just generally superb, but the use of the map adds an entirely different dimension to them.
This particular piece was created on a map of Bulgaria that was glued to a piece of plywood and drawn with acrylic, watercolor, colored pencil and a white sharpie. What you get is a "limited archival print" (only 20 were made) for only $20!
Corid's Etsy shop is absolutely stunning and filled with little drawings for the imagination, not just lovely ladies like the one pictured above. You really have to check out "Buggy Reader", "Girls Are Mean", "Little Monster" and "Everybody Loves a Party" just to name a few. With 91 pieces in the shop, there's bound to be something you love. And all of them are just 20 bucks. After looking through everything, I not only want to buy all of them, but I feel inspired to get out my sketchbook.....or atlas.

thank you (thank you), so very much... for such kind words and good wishes
