This is the second season of the awesome competition and here's how it works:
Two competitors will swap a file back and forth in real-time, adding to and embellishing the work. Each artist gets fifteen minutes to complete a "volley" and then we post it to the site live. A third participant, a writer, provides play-by-play commentary on the action, as it happens. A match lasts for ten volleys and when it's complete, Season Ticket Holders tell us what they think and we'll declare a winner."The pieces you see above were from last week's special Pre-Season opener. Instead of just two artists, it was between 10 collaborators around the world and the file crossed over 16,000 miles! As you can see, it's hard to tell the final image even came from the original. Check out the competition so you can see how it progressed.
The first official match of the season starts today at 3pm eastern. So if you're stuck at the computer this afternoon, or just a big graphics/art geek like me, go check it out.
Oh, and become a season ticket holder (it's free) if you want to have a hand in choosing who wins! You also get to download all the files used in a match.
You really do have to see it. Check out some of the old matches too!
