But the cynic in me is so damn noisy. Whenever I'm going through a phase where new ideas are a plenty...there's a part of me constantly dreading tomorrow or next week or next month when I hit the inevitable drought. When ideas start to come less often and I struggle to find something new.
So as well as starting a vision board (which I really need to get crackin' at...haven't added much of anything since the camera came into my life) I've decided to write myself a note, a reminder if you will...
Think about it. When something major happens, it happens in the blink of an eye and suddenly someone's world is turned upside down, for better or worse.
That's kind of exciting, right? In 5 seconds you could suddenly be rich, get a call from someone you've missed for years, get bad news, be on TV, read something that changes your point of view entirely, meet the person you're going to marry, find out you're pregnant, change someone else's mind, cry, laugh.........
Good, bad, insignificant or monumental, a change is a change and it can happen just like that.
So remind yourself to get excited. When you're in a slump, it could turn around in a blink. Maybe you'll have your next great idea!

Boy, do I need this reminder. I tend to get in a vicious cycle when I'm in an uninspired period, even though I know it won't last forever. I was just thinking about writer's block this morning (not a writer, but I'm sure the feeling is the same... blank page panic) and wondering what tricks people use to jump start themselves. Great idea to just relax and let it go and then let it come.
