My first gallery show!

PieLevel

I'm not even sure if I told you I became a part of this photo collective called Photodrifting.  It's a bunch of photographers from NYC sharing their work on Photodrifting.com.  I became a contributor just in time to submit a photograph for a show, but since I've never done that before...I kept it mum until I knew for certain I would get an acceptable shot and submit it.

Basically I left myself room to chicken out.

Well I didn't chicken out and I get to be a part of the show!  I'm really excited and if you're in the NYC area on the 18th, you should come check it out.

See the press release after the break...
PRESS RELEASE

PHOTODRIFTING.COM | PIE LEVEL BQE

APRIL 18th - MAY 10th 2009
OPENING RECEPTION: APRIL 18TH 2009

EYE LEVEL BQE 364 LEONARD STREET. BROOKLYN, NY 11211
http://eyelevelgallery.com/

Photodrifting  is a New York City based collective of creative professionals who document and share their lives via photographs. At photdrifting.com, the pictures are not usually related, nor do they have any concurrent theme or style.  Instead, Photo Drifting represents different views of life in New York, where its contributors bring us close to a personal realization of how we see images on a daily and  horizontal shift highlighted by the website's distinctive visual time line put together by founder; Jon-Paul Rodriguez, which enhances their daily and joint exercise of the eye and their shutter triggering fingers.

As part of our next Eye Level exhibition, we decided to take a queue from an anonymous addition in our window name, where by negating the word Eye with "Pie" (in Spanish, meaning "foot"), the Photo Drifters used this as the principal element in submitting their visual perspectives on a street level using the BQE as a fuse point.

Please join us this next Saturday to see what the drifters came up with. It is also important to mention that during the exhibition the photographs will be often replaced, inspired by their own website's dynamic.

Participating Artist's:

Ry Pepper | Aya Rosen | Carissa Pelleteri | William Keating | Matthew Gilli | David Flinn | Foster Zeh
Niki Hall
| Ben Shooting BK | Katie Shooting BK | Geoffrey Weg | Chris Campomanes | Bernadette Torres
Garrett Klein
| Ananda Lima | Christian Jimenez | Melanie Teppich | Mariano T. Rodríguez Ribas.

How exciting! If I was anywhere remotely close to the NY area, I would go. But Kingston, WA is a little far...

Congratulations! You've earned it.

I am so proud of you. Congrats! Your photos are great and I'm so glad you get to show them off! I am sorry I will miss it!
