What better way to finish off the spring cleaning theme than with some adorable aprons?
Aprons make me laugh...not because I think they're funny...but because one day I was cooking and said outloud to the fella "How the heck do people keep grease from getting on their damn clothes?"
He looked at me with a totally straight face and said, "Um, aprons?"
I guess you can say it was one of my better blonde moments which makes this find even more perfect since these gorgeous aprons come from Blonde Designs.
Ever since that moment in the kitchen, I've been wearing a hideous olive green tool apron because it's all we had. I kind of like it because it's more like wearing cooking armor but more importantly, it has pockets. I was surprised to find how many aprons out there don't have them. I mean, aren't they essential?
So it was the excellent little pockets that first caught my eye on the apron above and then the fantastic design. I love the polka dots, colors, trim and that it comes to a little V at the bottom. This, and most of the others, are made of 100% curtain weight cotton so it will easily come clean after cooking that batch of bacon.
Mmm. Bacon.
So for only $32 ($25 for half aprons) you'll be perfectly protected and look good at the same time. You can't beat it really.

Yes, pockets are essential. Even in those "too pretty for real work, only worn for when company arrives Betty Draper" aprons.
I love these. Alas, I would hesitate to wear them to do anything that required an apron. I'm a messy cook and would be afraid I'd go too far. But maybe, next time the neighbors drop by for cocktails, especially if it's Betty and Don, I'll throw one on. That way, they will *think* I've been hard at work and that I'm tidy about it as well.
