Have you done this with your avocado pits?
Stick four toothpicks in to the pit and then, pointier side up, place in a tall jar of water. It’ll take some time for it to sprout, couple weeks maybe. Just be patient and keep the water fresh. I’ve also noticed it grew a little more when I made sure the top of the pit got water too.
When it’s big enough, you can pot it and grow a little tree (that probably won’t ever grow avos, just so you know).
Are you gonna do it?
I’m reworking my main photography site (more soon), excercising daily, working, and trying to enjoy my time off by seeing friends and doing some culture catch up (like watching TV.)
I think I need to start setting my alarm so I’m not so tempted to sleep in…

I’ve been cooking at home a lot more and using fresh ingredients. I even posted a quick & easy recipe for those kale chips you see up there!
LOT’S of running has been happening.. and walking. I try and walk to work every day, and sometimes home. I even ran AFTER work on Sunday. Mind. Blown
And I’ve been meaning to take a class lately, so in interest of my recent push into healthy town, I signed up for a silks class. I can’t even describe how much fun it was! But damn were my arms tired. Yow!

A simple, but very fun moment for me in the world of the internets… one of my Etsy Treasuries made the front page!
You can find about a thousand recipes for Kale chips online and they’re not going to be much different from this one. I’m just here to tell you that a non-cook is fully capable of making this insanely easy snack, which is a pretty fantastic replacement for less healthy munchies.
The hardest part is remembering to buy kale when you’re at the store. I used red kale, but you can use either.
Step 1: Pre-heat oven to 350 degrees.
Step 2: Cut the stems off and throw away (unless you know of something to do with kale stems). Pluck the leaves (make ‘em chip size!). Wash and dry them in a salad spinner if you have one. If you don’t, simply wash and pat dry with a towel (paper or otherwise).
Step 3: Drizzle olive oil on the leaves. Use just enough to get a light coat on all the leaves.
Step 4. Salt your leaves! (Start with less because you can always shake more on later)
Step 5. Lay the leaves out on a baking sheet as evenly as you can. Use two baking sheets if you want.
Step 6: Bake for 10-15 minutes. I have a really hot gas stove so everything tends to cook a little faster. I just kept an eye on them and when the edges started to turn brown… done!
Step 7: EAT.
I love being home. I love taking care of where I live. I love going out and getting rowdy and then coming back to home. I love that home is somewhere I can always come back to, somewhere I can hide, and somewhere I can relax.
