Seriously, in all my years of stalking the internet, would you believe I've never once put a video on YouTube?  I know... crazy talk.  I've been so stuck on my still photography in the last couple of years that I completely forget my D90 even had the ability to record HD vids.

So the other night while I was at my brother's gig (see his band NT), I shot a few of the songs.  To my surprise, everyone decided it was awesome and I was asked to shoot more.  So, I guess I'm not just a photog anymore, I'm also a vid-ee-oh-og.  Or at least I play one on TV. And by TV I mean YouTube, but what's the difference anymore?

Watch video, yeah?

Ok, I know. A youtube video. Just see the rest of my posts from this week to find out why the writing has been at a serious minimum the last few days.

Regardless, this video is just pure awesome.  It's been around for awhile and in 'what planet have I been on' style, I just found it today. In case you inhabit that same planet I appear to frequent, here it is for your viewing pleasure:

It's been a really really long week at work. (Yay 14 hour days!)  I think I could really use one of these...

I'd say that's a perfect mix of arts & dafts.

Choir of rain...

Looks like nature and music are the theme of the day.  Check out this fantastic video of a choir making rain...and thunder.

Improv Everywhere's latest mission was creating an art gallery on the 23rd street subway platform. They put up placards next to objects we pass by every day like electrical boxes, signs, advertisements and as you probably already know, I love calling attention to the overlooked.

My favorite part of the mission had to be the "ongoing" performance art.  They put a placard next to one of the benches with the title "Woman Sitting on a Bench (Ongoing)" which of course worked best when there was...a woman sitting on the bench.

Genius.  Do watch.

One thing you might not know about me...I'm kind of a video game junkie. Well, junkie might be a bit much, but I've always loved them...even enjoy watching people play them.  I guess you'd call me a "casual" gamer.  Heck, I'll even go ahead and admit to you that I play World of Warcraft.  I tell myself it's because my artist brain gets so immersed in the beautiful graphics and story.  That works, right?

We were lucky enough to grow up with video games as kids, my brother and I. I'm talkin' Space Invaders and everything.  I remember being addicted to solitaire on our Macintosh back in the 80s.  I remember when Myst came out and everyone but Mom was addicted. I remember getting our first Nintendo and Sega and beating games with brother Gypsy in one day.  I remember how we used to laugh at eachother's faces when we played.

Also, our dad convinced us that if we moved the controller around like crazy, it helped.  Kinda like when he told us that while bowling we had to do a little dance in the direction we wanted the ball to go.  Yes, I still do that.

To get to the point, this awesome little video struck a chord with me.  Watch as photographer Robbie Cooper captures some young gamers fully immersed in their video game world.  Most of it is downright hilarious...while some of it is just a touch....creepy.

One Gallon Axe

This video tickles my funny bone like no other. Definitely reminiscent of Tenacious D...but in a world all it's own. I can see it now, a world filled with guitars....filled with milk.
